SCEA Elections 2008
Elections will be conducted by direct mail between April 23 and May 8.  Ballots must be received at the address indicated in the ballot mailing by noon on May 8th.  Following is a summary of candidate information and job descriptions for each office so that you may better familiarize yourselves with the positions and the candidates vying for each.
SCEA 1st Vice-President
Candidates (1 for a 2 year term):
-Daynon Blevins        Hillsborough
-Maddie Colas   North Plainfield   
Responsibilities:  The 1st Vice-President is responsible for the annual legislative dinner and is an SCEA delegate to the County President's Council.  In addition, they serve as the website coordinator.  This is a two year term.

SCEA Treasurer
Candidate (2 year term)
-Dave Yastremski     Bernards
Responsibilities:  The Treasurer collects and supervises all funds and accounts of the Association.  They pay all bills.  They also assist local affilates with their treasuries upon request.
Delegate Assembly
Candidates (2 for a 2 year term)
-Mary McRae      Bernards
-Gayle Faulkner     Bridgewater-Raritan
-Daynon Blevins     Hillsborough
Responsibilities:  The DA determines the policies of the NJEA;  approves the NJEA budget;  acts upon reports from the NJEA officers, the Executive Committee, and all standing committees;  and elects NJ representatives to the NEA Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:  The RA is convened every July during the Annual Meeting.  At this meeting, respresentatives to NEA's highest deliberative body debate issues that impact American public education, elect top officers, and set policy for the 3.2 million-member Association.
